Is there a clean up fee in addition to the rental charge? If so, how much is it? If not, who is responsible for clean up (do we have to hire an outside source)?
Yes, there is a $350 REFUNDABLE clean-up/damage deposit. It is your responsibility to leave the facility as you found it.

Is there a deposit to secure the date? Is it refundable if you cancel? What forms of payments do you accept? When is the balance due?
There is a nonrefundable deposit to secure the date. We accept cash, checks, MasterCard and Visa. The balance must be paid in full 30 days prior to the date of your event.

Is it possible for me to stop by & take a look at the set up of the house?
Please call for a tour, appointments are available Monday - Thursday, 10:00am to 6:00pm.

Are there any restrictions regarding caterers?
The Matthews House now offers our own preferred Food and Beverage service. Once you have reserved The Matthews House, we will sit down together and customize all the details for your reception. For more information, please feel free to contact them at 463-9551.

What is the parking capacity? Is there overflow parking?
Parking Capacity: Parking for 50 cars can be accommodated on the property of The Matthews House and the motel lot to the right of The Matthews House. The following areas may also be utilized: Chocolate Smiles parking lot (after 5pm) and Old Cary Commons ~ 2 blocks from the house.

Are there any items available on site (i.e. tents, tables, linens, etc.)? Are these items included in the rental price?
Our facility and Caterer provide the tables, chairs, and china for up to 150 guests. Linens, glassware and various tent sizes can be rented through us at a discounted price.

Are there any decoration restrictions on the interior and/or exterior of the house?
There are a few restrictions for decorating inside of the house. For instance, you are not allowed to move the furniture without prior permission.

Do you have any vendors that you recommend?
We are happy to provide you with a list of vendors to help meet all of your needs, including photographers, event coordinators, florists, music, hair/make-up, wedding cakes, etc.

Is a Full Open Bar acceptable?
An open bar is allowed, but a permit is required.

Are there any additional insurance requirements that we as renters are required to get?
No.

What hotels are close to the Matthews House? How far from the House are the hotels?
The following hotels are available to your guests: Embassy Suites LaQuinta, Marriott, Hampton Inn, Towne Place Suites, Holiday Inn, and Comfort Suites.

Is event planning included in the rental price, or is there an
additional charge for your assistance with the event? What does that include (coordination of vendors)?
For additional assistance, we are available to arrange all vendors and set time-lines, Bridal consultation, for a minimal fee. We also have a list of Event Planners to coordinate the rehearsal and ceremony.
